Our Story

Seven years ago, a profound shift occurred in our approach to gardening. As an agronomist, I had always focused on maximizing production, mostly relying on chemical inputs. However, the desire to create a safe, healthy environment for our family led me to abandon that approach. Instead, I turned to the time-honored practice of cover cropping, using diverse species to manage weeds and supplement nutrients. 

This experience resonated deeply with a broader observation: Many generations ago, farmers understood the vital role cover crops played in replenishing soil, enhancing structure, and fostering a thriving ecosystem. While large-scale agriculture can benefit from these practices, home gardeners, and hobby farmers often lack access to them. A conversation with a friend, lamenting her 'dead' garden bed, highlighted this disparity. We often focus on fertilizers and plant boosters, providing quick fixes, but neglecting the long-term health of our soil. 

This realization sparked the creation of Re-Fresh. We aimed to democratize access to regenerative agriculture, adapting the quality ingredients and methods used on large regenerative or organic farms for every day gardeners. Re-Fresh is a unique cover crop mixture that works to build organic matter, essential minerals, and beneficial microbes, designed to restore balance and vitality to your soil.
